KONTAN.CO.ID - PT Yamaha Motor Nuansa Indonesia (YMNI) as the manufacturer of Yamaha branded water purifiers, in collaboration with the Daya Pertiwi Foundation (DPF) has successfully won a prestigious award, namely the Energy Globe National Award 2022 given by the Energy Globe Foundation, a non-profit organization engaged in environmental sustainability located in Austria.

This award is a form of appreciation for the solution to environmental problems offered by YMNI and DPF, through a program to provide healthy drinking water in Wirotaman Village, Malang Regency, East Java, using the Yamaha Clean Water Supply System model YCW-008A. The use of this system is considered an appropriate technology that is suitable for application in suburban areas, because it has a simple construction so that it is easy to apply and inexpensive in terms of maintenance.

"We would like to thank all related parties who have helped and collaborated in the program to provide healthy drinking water in Wirotaman Village, so that we can get the Energy Globe National Award 2022.

This achievement certainly not only makes us more enthusiastic and motivated to provide the best contribution to the people of Indonesia, but also proves that Yamaha technology is always relevant in answering all social and environmental problems that exist in society," said Takeshita Naotaka, President Director, PT Yamaha Motor Nuansa Indonesia who also serves as Vice President Director, PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Mfg.

The Yamaha Clean Water Supply System model YCW-008A itself is an improvement on the water purification system that uses the 'Slow Sand Filter' method and has been widely used in various parts of the world. This system is very environmentally friendly because in addition to using low electrical capacity for the water suction pump, the way the water movement works also utilizes more gravity through the arrangement of open tank formations that are made in steps (descending).

In addition, the purification system does not use coagulants or chemical filters but uses good bacteria produced by utilizing sunlight and natural media.

The presence of the Yamaha Clean Water Supply System in Wirotaman village is able to supply at least 8,000 liters of healthy drinking water every day, or around 400 gallons of water which is enough to meet the needs of 500 families*. With such an abundant supply of clean water, this program is not only able to improve the quality of life of the village community, but also has the potential to provide economic income.

Therefore, in addition to providing guidance in the form of training on operating procedures and maintenance of filtration machines, YMNI and DPF also provide educational programs from the perspective of business opportunities that can be carried out by the village community. Such as selling drinking water, creating water management groups, and other forms of business that can increase the competitiveness and independence of the local community.
