Daya Pertiwi Foundation Holds Livestock Training for Compang Longgo Residents, Mabar

Labuan Bajo, Floresa.co – The Daya Pertiwi Foundation in West Manggarai held a pig and broiler chicken husbandry training for residents of Compang Longgo Village, Komodo District, West Manggarai – Flores, Tuesday, April 19, 2016.

In this training, the Coordinator of the Daya Pertiwi Foundation, Yosep Leribun, explained and practiced directly in the pigsty and chickensty how to raise livestock properly.

“Today we are conducting training on how to raise livestock properly, which is called the local organic livestock program because all the livestock feed comes from the natural environment around us,” said Yosep on the sidelines of the activity.

On this occasion, the foundation also taught techniques for making pigsty and broiler chickensty. In addition, they were also taught how to raise livestock and manage their waste.

“We also explained the types of good pig seeds, for example female pigs that are suitable to be individuals for giving birth and the types of male pigs that are suitable as seeds,” said Yosep.

Coordinator of SMEs of Yayasan Daya Pertiwi, Yuventinus Erdyanto said that their fostered groups are in four sub-districts, namely Komodo, Mbeliling, Sano Nggoang and Boleng.

Yuventinus said that this training activity was held for two days since yesterday. On the first day, a group seminar was held at the Wae Kesambi Church, Labuan Bajo. The seminar was attended by all groups that already had businesses.
