By the grace of God Almighty, the unity of the DPF Team and external teams that collaborate, the Daya Pertiwi Foundation (DPF) can carry out activities according to its Vision and Mission very smoothly. The organization's operational costs (including office costs and staff salaries), ecosystem surveys in several provinces and operational programs and projects are funded by DPF's own funds. Meanwhile, assistance for village communities in Pagergunung, Kesamben District, Blitar Regency in the form of procurement of ecosystem-based Yamaha Water Purification System Units is a grant from the Japanese Embassy in Jakarta. The Cooperation Scheme with the Japanese Embassy was discussed in detail with a government moderator from the Ministry of Home Affairs involving various officials from state institutions of the Republic of Indonesia. Meanwhile, the cooperation in transferring skills for maintenance and operation of purifier units is DPF in collaboration with Yamaha.
In 2023, the formation and strengthening of the Drinking Water Committee will be carried out in the operation of the above grants. The Mineral Water Unit with a production capacity of 8 tons per day is managed by the village community very well to the satisfaction of all related parties and us as the responsible organization. The project has been monitored several times by the Japanese Embassy in Jakarta. The project duration will end at the end of March 2024 and will be audited by an auditor approved by the Japanese Embassy and the final project report and audit report will be sent to the Regent of Blitar, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Japanese Embassy in Jakarta.
The same cooperation scheme and program as mentioned above has been implemented in Wirotaman Village, Ampel Gading District, Malang Regency, which was inaugurated by the Regent of Malang, the Ambassador and Consul General of Japan and the President Director of Yamaha (YMNI) in 2022. The project in Wirotaman has been won the Energy Globe Award, the world's most prestigious award, after going through a very tight competition between 2500 projects from 180 countries. It is a source of pride for the government, village communities, ecosystem-based Yamaha products and DPF who have implemented this project well.
Re-strengthening the Consultant Services Program Unit in 2023 and the coming years.
Business Consulting Services, Funding, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Adaptation
DPF has had long experience in the field of business establishment and development since the 1990s, not only mastering theoretical knowledge because DPF is also experienced in establishing and running several businesses. Consulting services in the past include thousands of micro-scale, medium-scale and large-scale businesses and multinational companies, such as clients in the past, including: Freeport, Newmon, PT Tiga Samudera which has large cargo business units in Asia and Oil and Gas, China Petroleum, Medco, Banks, foreign investment businesses and many more. Facilitator and organizer of national and international seminars and workshops. In the past, DPF held international seminars in the fields of environment and eco and community tourism. Based on long experience in business and consulting, in 2023 and beyond this unit will be further strengthened. This is also in line with the many requests for consulting and facilitation services received by DPF.
The Daya Pertiwi Foundation at the end of 2023 and continuing in the following years will strengthen the Business Consulting, Funding, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Adaptation Services units. In 2023, DPF will provide consulting services for funding at the request of collaboration from South Korean food companies in Indonesia. Also continuing the collaboration that has been running for several years with Yamaha Indonesia.
Ecosystem Survey in East Java, Bali and East Nusa Tenggara in 2023
In 2023, ecosystem surveys will be carried out at 8 location points in East Java Province, 20 location points in mainland Bali and 3 location points on Nusa Penida Island within the Bali Province area and 4 locations in East Nusa Tenggara. This ecosystem survey aims to be able to directly research, collect data and think about possible environmental protection programs, development of ecosystem-based community businesses and adaptation to climate change in the future. The survey not only covers social aspects, local culture, dry land and rice farming systems, irrigation systems, community forests, but also includes water sources that have the potential to become raw materials for clean drinking water or mineral water. Especially in the field of ecosystem-based drinking water, DPF has provided services as a consultant and facilitator in collaboration with Yamaha Indonesia since three years ago which has been going very well. More broadly, the ecosystem survey will be useful for DPF to design appropriately in all aspects (ecosystem, social, cultural, economic, customary, climate, marketing prospects, business funding, government policy, etc.) in preparing community and business economic development plans based on ecosystems and climate change adaptation. This area is in accordance with YDP's long-term strategic plan.
Funding
Funding is a fundamental problem. Because logically and in reality, all organizational activities and programs require funding and this is a heavy burden because DPF is a non-profit institution. Posts that require financing are: Office operations (tax, electricity, telephone, office equipment, office boy, gardener, security and others; Salaries of office and field staff and experts; transportation costs; project or program operations and surveys , all of which in 2023 funded solely by DPF from voluntary donations from members of the board, especially the leadership. Income to finance the foundation also comes from consultant services.
